April Mantel

O' how this spring of love resembleth the uncertain glory of an April day!      William Shakespeare

Ah yes, the emphasis here on the 'uncertain glory' of an April day.   Each one uncertain but glorious, and deliciously bringing us closer to warmer sunny days.    A wonderful friend and customer, Cindy, from Maryland stopped in and surprised us with a pretty spring bouquet of roses and Gerber daisies.  The unusual combination of pale salmon and soft wine is our inspiration this month!  Thank you Cindy!

The luxurious creamy satin gracing our mantel was once a flowing bridal gown and is now a treasured textile in our collection.  Upon that we've placed an all time favorite and fabulous swirly vintage mirror to reflect the beauty of it all!   These are becoming difficult to find so be sure to swoop one up if you have the opportunity.  Pure drama!!!

Varied candlesticks are a must for any mantel which provide height.  Here we have one glass and two ornate iron candleholders. Top these with sparkling beeswax tapers for dazzle!  A silver teapot, creamer and sugar have been painted and embellished with roses and gold accents.  No more polishing this sweet set!

The teacup and saucer caddy serves as a display for the dreamy mismatched sugar bowls and a matching creamer/mini teapot. The color in these little beauties blend beautifully with the roses.  And finally, sprinkled here and there are the beaded pearly garlands that we all adore.
