Love is in the air and we are dressing our February mantel in homage to love. This wonderful, albeit short month of February we are all reminded to shower those we love with tokens of our affections.  We tended to shy away from bold reds and instead focused on mauvy rose, ruby red and tea stained creamy ivory for our palette on this Valentine's Mantel.   The vintage statue "young love" was the inspiration for this mantel . The coloring started us off in the "tea stained"  direction. We placed a lace tablecloth across the mantel and placed our statue atop, entwining a vintage ruby beaded necklace about the children's feet. (love to decorate with vintage jewels!) Accompanying our statue is an ornate lamp with the prettiest tea stained lace shade. We found that soft lighting gives a great ambience of "Romance". The shelf above the mantel is dripping with mauve glass beads and vintage lace. We accessorized all with dangling triple length glittered hearts.  Hearts in the form of papermache, angelwings and fabric grace this alter of Love!

We wish you all Love and Happiness,

                                                                 Martha and Roberta
